Computer Workshops Winter 2019
IOS-Workshop for iPad and iPhone
Tuesday, January 29; 9:00-11:30 a.m.
Bring your IPad/phone to class and learn the basics as well as the new features of your device. Participants must have an ITunes account and know their password. Weekly topics are as follows:
Camera features and photo organization. Suggestions for moving pics and video to free up space on your device.
Participants must have their own fully charged iPad/Phone; have an iTunes account, and know their Apple ID Password.
Overdrive (Libby), RBDigital, and Hoopla
Tuesday, February 5; 9:00-11:30 a.m.
Bring your device and learn how to utilize the free services offered by the Ocean City Library for books, magazines and music/video. We will access/use RB Digital (magazines), Overdrive/Libby (books), and Hoopla (music/audio books/TV). You will need your device & password, your library card, and an Amazon account and password. Participants should have a working knowledge of their particular device.
Introduction to Computers/Windows 10
Tuesday, February 12, 9-11:30 a.m.
Beginner level course. No experience needed.
Learn the fundamentals of the computer using Windows 10: mouse usage; basic vocabulary, dialog boxes, storage devices, basic Windows 10 features, and file management. The skills learned in this class will give you a strong foundation on which to build future computer experiences. This is a true beginner course.

Fundamentals of E-Mail using Gmail
Tuesday, March 12; 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Beginner level course—No experience needed but participants should be proficient with the mouse
Learn E-Mail basics: Create a Gmail account, compose mail, create contacts and groups, manage your mail; delete emails, create and move mail to folders, add, open, and save attachments.
Word Processing Basics using MS Word 2016.
Tuesday March 19; 9-11:30 a.m.
Learn some of the basic word processing features in MS Word 2016 by creating and editing simple documents. Skills covered will be creating, editing, formatting documents; learn to insert and edit pictures in your documents. Beginner course but participant should be familiar with the mouse.
Word Processing Skills Continued using MS Word 2016
Tuesday, March 26; 9-11:30 a.m.
Build upon your basic skills and learn to create and format documents using tabs and tables; insert headers & footers, text boxes and various enhancements.

For all courses we recommend students bring a USB Flash Drive to save their work. USB Flash Drives will be available to purchase for $10.
Couldn't make it to one of our workshops? Worry not! We offer our library members access to thousands of online, on-demand video training tutorials on the most popular software and devices, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Docs, iPad and more.
To access the training module:
1. Go to https://www.rbdigital.com/oceancityfreenj/service/hoonuit
2. Click on the "Browse Tutorials" button.
3. Enter your username and password. If you have not created an account yet, click on "Create New Account".
4. From the main dashboard you can search for software that you are intrested in, or you can browse the menu on the left hand side of the page.
