Part I will introduce the concept of improvisation, which is a form of spontaneous musical composition, created and performed by jazz musicians. During this first of three parts, Michael and the quartet’s other musicians will discuss, present, demonstrate, and perform how this is accomplished. Musical samples and educational material will be presented to an audience of both non-musicians and musicians. We welcome all, and will convey this material in simplistic terms for all to understand. Jazz will be played!
