From 1979, directed by Peter Yates.  A coming of age comedy – drama that follows four male teenagers who have recently graduated from high school.  The main charaters are looked down upon by the more affluent students at Indiana University in Bloomington.  The young men are openly ridiculed and called “cutters” because they are related to the men who worked in the limestone quarries around Bloomington.  The group decides to enter the “little 500” bike race in order to compete with the university students.  The cast includes Dennis Christopher, Dennis Quaid, Daniel Stern, Jackie Earle Haley, Paul Dooley, and Barbara Barrie.  The film was nominated for 5 Oscars and won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
