Date: October 1, 2014
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Wednesday, October 1st
at 7pm in Meeting Room N111

"The Misadventures of a cross country kayaker: following Lewis and Clarke"
presented by Hank Landau, an Environmental Engineer who lives North of Seattle Washington and has a second home in Ocean City.
He can often be found kayaking in the bay.

In 2008, Hank started paddling upstream on the Columbia River hoping to make it from the Pacific Ocean to Bonneville Dam.
At some point during his expedition, he decided to follow Lewis and Clark's return route to St. Louis.

Completing a different segment of the route each year, Hank reached his destination in 2013.
Hank recounted his challenging (and often humorous) “misadventures” paddling and portaging the Columbia,
Snake, and Missouri Rivers—mostly solo but accompanied at times by friends, family members, or the occasional rattlesnake.
