The AC Connection

The AC Connection is an All-Star group of musicians that have been working the AC music scene for many years. The group consists of Joe Rotella - tenor sax, Louis Cioci - trumpet
/flugelhorn, Joe Mancini - piano, Jack Hegyi - bass, Harry Himles - drums, and Lee 
Hambro - congas. The group also features Philly’s Class Act – Ella Gahnt on vocals. 
AC Connection specializes in performing intricate Jazz arrangements and sharing tidbits of history from the Jazz Legends that made the songs famous. 
Whenever you catch them live, you’re in for some outstanding Jazz!!

ELLA GAHNT is a Philly-based Jazz vocalist who has been dubbed “Philly’s Class Act” by local media and fans. She has “wowed” audiences at most of the area’s major venues including The Kimmel Center, The West Oak Lane Jazz Festival, The Philadelphia Museum of Art “Art After Five” Series, The Painted Bride Art Center, The Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, The Mellon Jazz Festival, The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts, Afro-American Museum’s “Jazz Till Sunrise” Festival, and The Morrisville Jazz Festival. Currently, she performs regularly with her own trio/quartet, with Nasir Dickerson & the Renaissance Messengers, with The Clef Club Community Jazz Big Band, with The AC Connection, and as featured vocalist with the Philadelphia Legends of Jazz Orchestra. Ella tells musical stories in her own unique way while honoring the vocal legacy of Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Carmen McCrae, Betty Carter and Ella Fitzgerald. Her 2 CDs “Immaculate Union” and “By Request” are currently in rotation on Philly’s Jazz Station WRTI-FM. Ella has released her 3rd CD entitled “Third Stage Of Elegance” which showcases her songwriting abilities. Look out for Ella Gahnt – she’s traveling at the speed of swing!
