The St. Augustine Preparatory School's Select Choir is in its third year under the direction of Mr. Matthew Wolf. The twenty-five voice all-male choir has started to perform for various events inside the school and in the surrounding Vineland area over the past two years. This past year alone the choir performed at Ocean City's 9/11 Memorial Service and has held concerts at the Ocean City Free Public Library. Additionally, previous performances have included school-related events such as The Living Stations of the Cross and our two annual winter and spring concerts. The choir also performs every week at the school's weekly Celebration of Mass in front of the entire student body. The select chorus performs a variety of repertoire from Renaissance motets to contemporary music by living composers and meets as an honors class during the school day.
In addition to the Select Choir, the Prep also hosts an extracurricular fourteen voice A Cappella group, The TestosterTones. Performing mainly contemporary A Cappella music, the TestosterTones have been invited to events such as Ocean City's First Night, the Miss NJ Parade, St. Mary of the Lakes fashion show, the Williamstown Arts Festival, and the Prep's own Night at the Forum & Run for the Roses.
For the past three years, several individuals within the choral program have been selected to both the South Jersey Region chorus and NJ All State Choir. This past year a student was selected for the NAfME All-Eastern Mixed Chorus which includes the top-performing students frrom the entire East Coast and Europe.
