Dalia Mogahed

“What’s it like to be a Muslim in America?”

The next TED talk features Muslim scholar Dalia Mogahed, whose powerful talk is, “What’s it like to be a Muslim in America?”  Researcher and pollster Dalia is an author, advisor and consultant who studies Muslim communities. And the question TED asks is what do you see when you look at Dalia: A woman of faith? A scholar, a mom, a sister? Or an oppressed, brainwashed, potential terrorist? In her personal, powerful talk, Dalia asks us, in this polarizing time, to fight negative perceptions of her faith in the media -- and to choose empathy over prejudice.

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design, and the TED talks feature experts in a variety of fields who present unique ways of looking at their respective fields of expertise.

Everyone is welcome to these free sessions.

A discussion will take place after the lecture.
