Marian Murphy Powell, Vocalist

Marian is an accomplished singer and theatrical artist who brings solid footing in classical music to her work on stage and into the teaching studio. A veteran of national tours and major regional theatre produc-tions, her favorite roles include: “Cosette” in Les Misérables, “Christine” in Phantom, “Mother” in Bright Lights, Big City, “Marian” in The Music Man, “Fleur” in Esmeralda (world premiere), “Mary Jane Wilkes” in Big River and “Fiona” in Brigadoon. She has been featured with several orchestras around the world, including the Shanghai Symphony in a tribute concert to the Prime Minister of Singapore, and the Concordia Orchestra at New York’s Lincoln Center. She has three solo recordings: “This Must Be Love”, celebrating love songs from many genres, and a jazz CD – “Live at the Saturday Club” with renowned jazz pianist Bill Schmearer, and most recently, “Amazed By You” – all new music writ-ten for Marian by pianist/composer Matthew Quayle. She has been a member of the faculty at New England Music Camp for twenty years, and is an adjunct voice teacher at The Hill School.

 

 

 

Jeffrey Uhlig, Piano

 

Jeffrey Uhlig has appeared as collaborative pianist in many concerts in America and also has performed in Russia.  He has performed with many outstanding singers and instrumentalists including many members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, The New York Philharmonic and The Metropolitan Opera.  He is in demand as a chamber music player, vocal coach and accompanist and is a faculty member at Settlement Music School in Philadelphia where he holds The Lilian Kraus Felber Distinguished Faculty Chair in Piano.  In New Jersey, Mr. Uhlig is Principal Keyboard and Vocal Coach with The Ocean City Pops Orchestra and for many years served as Principal Keyboard with Princeton Symphony Orchestra.
