The History and Music of the Saxophone

February 3rd, 2019- Saxophonist and educator Michael Pedicin will present a two-part series, discussing the history of the saxophone, and also two of the most important jazz saxophonists of the past 50 years, John Coltrane and Michael Brecker.

Part 2)  "Remembering Michael Brecker and John Coltrane" featuring Michael Pedicin, Chris Simonini, and Doug Martin

February 10th, 2019- The Filadelphia Saxophone Quartet, featuring four virtuosic saxophonists and educators from the University of the Arts. The quartet will be performing the music of saxophonist/composer Ron Kerber.

February 17th, 2019- “The Carl Cox/Dave Hartl Project" will feature tenor saxophonist Carl Cox and keyboardist/composer/arranger Dave Hartl in an exchange of original music.

February 24th, 2019- "The New Jersey Saxophone Quartet" will be performing the "Music of Phil Woods." The works will consist of selections from Phil's three saxophone quartets.

All events are free admission. 
No registration required. 

Concerts begin at 2:00 pm and will include an audience question/answer segment between 3:00-3:15 pm.
