Dr. Giulia Enders

“The Surprisingly Charming Science of your Gut”

Our TED talk for this Saturday is by Dr. Giulia Enders, entitled:  “The

surprisingly charming science of your gut.” Our highest attendance for a TED talk here was on colonic gas, so here is sort of a continuation of that talk.  Did you ever wonder how we poop? Produce gas? Join us and learn about the gut -- the system where digestion (and a whole lot more) happens -- as Giulia takes us inside the complex, fascinating science behind it, including its connection to mental health. It turns out looking closer at something we might shy away from can leave us feeling more fearless and appreciative of ourselves.

Giulia is also an author who wrote, “Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body's Most Underrated Organ”, which has sold over 2 million copies in just her native Germany and is now available in the US.  We hope you can join us for what is a fascinating topic to our moderator as you will learn.

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design, and the TED talks feature experts in a variety of fields who present unique ways of looking at their respective fields of expertise.

Everyone is welcome to these free sessions.

A discussion will take place after the lecture.
