“The new anti-CEO playbook”
We have a very interesting TED talk by Chobani founder Hamdi Ulukaya, entitled, “The new anti-CEO Playbook.” Profit, money, shareholders: these are the priorities of most companies today. But at what cost? In an appeal to corporate leaders worldwide, Hamdi calls for an end to the business playbook of the past -- and shares his vision for a new, "anti-CEO playbook" that prioritizes people over profits. "This is the differencebetween profit and true wealth," he says.
Hamdi was raised in a dairy-farming family in a small village in eastern Turkey. He launched Chobani in 2007 with the mission and vision of making better food more accessible. In less than five years, Chobani became the number-one-selling Greek yogurt brand in the U.S., with more than a billion dollars in annual sales. An advocate of reducing income and wealth inequality nationwide, Hamdi implemented innovative profit-sharing and paid parental leave programs for Chobani's 2,000 employees. He founded the Tent Partnership for Refugees to improve the lives of more than 25 million refugees around the globe. He also signed the Giving Pledge, committing the majority of his personal wealth to the cause.
We hope you will join us for a realistic vision of the way extreme corporate profits can help the world.
