"Stormchaser"
By: Paul Stewart & Chris Riddell

This is a Fantasy story taking place at "The Edge." This is the second book in
the series about Twig. In the first book, Twig discovers that his father is a
"Sky Pirate." His father, Cloud Wolf, is in search of storm-phrax, which is
found at the heart of a storm. Storm-phrax is a crystal that can be used to
weigh down the floating city Santaphrax, and keep it from flying away. Storm-phrax
is not only used for that reason, though. It is said that if the crystal is
crushed to dust, it has the power to clean dirty water, and make it safe for
drinking.
While in search of a storm, Cloud Wolf's flying ship, the Stormchaser gets
caught in a storm, and falls out of the sky. Twig escapes the ship, but his
father goes down with the ship. Twigs parawings take him directly to the
twilight woods, the forest that robs you of your mind. Twig has to find his way
out, and fulfill his dad's quest by finding the storm-phrax before it's too
late, and the flying city Santaphrax floats away.
I highly recommend this book to kids ages 9-14. Stormchaser is the most original
story I have ever read. It is filled with awesome line-drawings. I'm sure you
will never read a story like this one.
