DESCRIPT:

Support, advocacy and education for families of mentally ill.
Independent self-help support/advocacy group for families with loved ones who have a serious mental illness. This is local affiliate of NJ Alliance for the Mentally Ill and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. AC-AMI provides information on how to access the county/state mental health systems, medications, housing, day programs and mentally ill chemical abuse(MICA), as well as advocationg for improvements via legislation, etc.
Atlantic County Alliance for the Mentally Ill is now called NAMI ATLANTIC COUNTY and it provides a no cost 12-week family education series, entitled "Family-to-Family Education Course."
Support group meets at the Presbyterian Church of Pleasantville.
