Canning Safety will discuss basic preserving and canning safety practices as a review for experienced canners or as an introduction for new canners.

Christine Zellers is the Family and Community Health Science County Assistant Professor/Educator in Cape May County, New Jersey for Rutgers Cooperative Extensions where she educates the community on wellness, nutrition, and fitness. She has extensive experience collaborating with partners to create healthy food environments in the areas of policy, systems, and environmental change. As a member of the FCHS team she is working with colleagues to study best practices around food policy changes that will create sustainability in the areas of nutrition equity specifically fruits, vegetables, and seafood. In addition to community health policies and food as medicine studies, Zellers works to educate residents on topics to improve their overall health and prevent chronic disease with a holistic approach to a well-lived quality lifestyle that includes physical activity, a nutrient dense diet, and quality sleep. Christine’s 25 years of experience in the field of fitness and 12 years of experience in nutrition and wellness became a passion as she raised her family and wanted to make a healthier lifestyle for them as adults, now she shares her enthusiasm for making healthy living obtainable for New Jersey residents.
