Winter & Spring 2023 Lecture Series - History of the Phillies
Thursday March 2nd at 7pm
This presentation will cover the Phillies from their start in 1883 to the current team which reached the World Series in 2022. We will discuss players such as Grover Cleveland Alexander, Richie Ashburn, Dick Allen, Mike Schmidt, and Bryce Harper. The Phillies have played at the Baker Bowl, Shibe Park, Veterans Stadium, and now Citizens Bank Park. The presentation will also include some memorabilia throughout baseball history. A question-and-answer session will follow the lecture.
Jason Love is a lifelong Phillies fan. He has a history degree from West Chester University and is the author of “Slices of Americana: A Road Trip Through American Baseball History” published by Sunbury Press.
